About the Artist
Patsy Dan Rogers was born on Tory Island, County Donegal, in 1938. He became one of Ireland's most celebrated contemporary painters, known for his bold, expressive style and deep connection to island life. Beyond his studio, Rogers served as the island's elected king from 1979 until his death in 2018, leading efforts to preserve Tory's language, culture and community.
