Collection: Roderic O'Conor

Ireland's most overlooked master — and one of its greatest.

Roderic O'Conor (1860–1940) spent most of his career in France, working alongside Gauguin in Pont-Aven and absorbing the full force of the French avant-garde. Bold colour, rhythmic broken brushwork, and surfaces that anticipate Fauvism by a decade — combined with a compositional intelligence that was entirely his own. One of Ireland's most important and still underappreciated painters.
